10 Years After Hurricane Katrina
This weekend, the 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, we pause to remember and honor the 1,833 victims of the storm that devastated the gulf coast and we reflect on the progress that our great maritime community has made over the past ten years.
During the city of New Orleans' greatest time of need, Crescent Towing's courageous team served as first responders on the Mississippi River. Crew members worked around the clock to catch break-away ships, hold-in large vessels to various docks, dock and moor ships delivering military personnel and crucial supplies needed to support the rescue operations, fight large fires that engulfed several wharves, and much more. The tenacious actions of our crew members provided direct support to the New Orleans disaster relief efforts and ultimately allowed the Mississippi River to resume operations. To our crew members who served our community ten years ago during the storm, we sincerely thank you.
